Earthgate is a private residence, also available as a retreat facility for individuals and for groups. It's owned and operated by Ernest Kara and Susan Friedman, with support from friends and family. The beautiful 8-acre property is located in the northeast corner of Pennsylvania, 90 minutes from NYC by car, or two hours by bus to nearby Milford, PA. There are woods, lawns, a pond, a stream and lots of wildlife, and the facilities include a heated swimming pool and a year-round, outdoor hottub. Throughout the year Earthgate hosts a range of workshops and events; most are held in the carpeted, loft-style group room. Informal indoor/outdoor sleeping accommodations are offered at modest cost, and two private guest bedrooms are often available, for a little more. Contributions of money or skills are welcome, as are suitable barter arrangements. We invite you to come to Earthgate for an event, or to contact us about presenting your own.
